Privacy Policy
Koutchina respects your privacy. This policy explains what data the Koutchina app and website collect, how we use, protect and share it, and the rights you have over it.

Data we collect
Account information: your email or sign-in identifier, your sign-in provider (Google, Apple or email) or guest session, and your user ID with us.
Profile data: display name, avatar and colour, origin and favourite country, dialect, and level/XP.
Gameplay data: match statistics, your virtual-chip balance and transactions, cosmetics you own, and mission/lesson progress.
Device & usage data: device type, OS and app version, an advertising identifier (see Advertising), crash and performance diagnostics, and IP address.
We also process microphone audio during voice chat, your in-app purchase history, and your device's notification token — each detailed in its own section below.
How we use your data
We use your data to run the game and create your account, save and sync your progress across devices, enable multiplayer, majlis and voice chat, process purchases, prevent cheating and abuse, support you when you contact us, and improve the experience. We do not sell your personal data.
Advertising & the advertising identifier
Koutchina shows ads through Google AdMob to fund the free version. Ads may use an advertising identifier (IDFA on iOS, Google Advertising ID on Android) to deliver more relevant ads and measure their performance.
On iOS we ask via App Tracking Transparency before any tracking, and in regulated regions (e.g. the EU) we show a consent form. If you don't consent, ads are still shown but non-personalized.
In-app purchases
Payments are handled entirely by Apple's App Store or Google Play — we never see or store your card details. From RevenueCat we receive purchase confirmations and a record of what you bought, to validate it and grant your chips and benefits.
Voice chat
When you join a voice majlis, your microphone audio is streamed live to the other participants via our voice-infrastructure provider (LiveKit). We do not record or store the content of your voice calls. The app requests microphone permission, and the mic is only active when you choose to speak.
Notifications
If you allow notifications, we store your device's push token to send alerts such as gifts, table invites and tournament reminders. You can turn them off any time in your system settings.
Analytics
We use product analytics (PostHog) to understand how features are used and improve them, and crash monitoring (Sentry) to find and fix problems. This website uses anonymized, cookieless analytics with no third-party tracking cookies.
Who we share data with
We share only what's necessary with providers acting on our behalf: Supabase (accounts & database), Google AdMob (ads), RevenueCat, Apple and Google (payments), PostHog and Sentry (analytics & crashes), Expo (notifications), and LiveKit (voice). We may also disclose where legally required. We do not sell your data.
Data retention & account deletion
We keep your data while your account is active. You can delete your account any time from Settings → Delete account; this hides your personal data and permanently deactivates the account (an anonymized transaction ledger is retained for audit only). You can also request deletion at privacy@koutchina.app.
Your rights & choices
You can access, correct or delete your data, withdraw consent, and control tracking, notification and microphone permissions in your device settings. If you are in the EEA or UK, you have additional rights under the GDPR. Email privacy@koutchina.app to exercise any of them.
Minimum age & children
Koutchina is intended for adults (18+) and is not directed to children. We do not knowingly collect data from anyone under the minimum age; if we learn that we have, we delete the account.
Security & international transfers
We apply reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your data. Our infrastructure and providers may store data outside your country of residence; where data is transferred internationally we rely on appropriate safeguards.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. We'll update the 'Last updated' date above, and for material changes we'll notify you by an appropriate means.
